OWENSVILLE — The Owensville town board met on Tuesday evening, and addressed a few projects on the agenda.

First on the list were new street lights through Duke Energy. Currently, the town pays around $1,500 a month for street light service. The new proposal would replace all the town’s lighting with new LED fixtures, and reduces the town’s cost to just over $1,100 monthly. The board approved the change.

The board also looked at their list of desired sidewalks and curbing to replace. The bid to replace all of the projects on the list came to $44,801, but Clerk-Treasurer Vanessa Riggs said that the town only had around $20,000 in the budget for projects.

After discussion, the board agreed to replace sidewalks along Third Street, and Warrick between Third and Second Streets, and curbing on North Scott Street at a cost of just over $22,000.

The board also approved a plan to replace the town’s website by Pedro Ferriera of NETPRO Agency at a cost of $4,000, plus $40 monthly.

Ferriera told the board that any small updates to the site would be at no cost to the town, with larger work coming at around $80 an hour. He added that the town’s ordinances could be added to the site in one, searchable PDF making the process much easier for the residents to keep up with changes.

The board also discussed a change to the fee for new water and sewer taps, but tabled that due to Water Superintendent Billy Ross being absent from the meeting.
